เส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติ เป็นวงรอบระยะทาง 3 กิโลเมตร แบ่งออกได้เป็น 4 ระยะ ช่วงแรกเป็นป่าดิบชื้นมีมอส และเฟิร์นขึ้นอยู่และช่วงที่ 2 เป็นทุ่งหญ้าขนาดใหญ่ที่คอยเปลี่ยนสีจากสีเขียวขจึในช่วงฤดูฝนสลับกับสีน้ำตาลอ่อนอย่างพรั่งพร้อมในช่วงฤดูแล้ง เห็นไอหมอกเมฆไหลมาอยู่เบื้องหน้าซึ่งคาดไม่ถึงเลยว่าจะอยู่หลังม่านอันหนาทึระหว่างทางช่วงที่ 3 จะพบกับต้นกุหลาบพันปีแดงขึ้นอยู่ตามหน้าผาเป็นดงกว้างจำนวนมากและมีขนาดใหญ่ จะบานในช่วงเดือนมกราคม -มีนาคม พันธุ์ไม้ชนิดนี้ถือเป็นลักษณะเด่นของเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติกิ่วแม่ปานแห่งนี้ แล้วจึงวกกลับเข้าสู่ป่าดิบเขาอีกครั้งหนึ่ง เป็นการเดินช่วงที่4 จะต้องเดินลงสู่ลำห้วยแม่ปาน ที่ไหลมาจากบริเวณที่ข้ามมาในช่วงแรก
Kaew Mae Pan Nature Trail one of the most beautiful and rewarding walks in the park is a new trail, which begins a short distance up the main summit road from Napamaytanidol. The path leads for a kilometer or more through dense, moist evergreen forest, then emerges and follows the top of a steep slope bordering the canyoned headwaters of the Mae Pan river. Dotted with red rhododendron, the trail proceeds southward for another kilometer with fine, open views to the west, then re-enters the forest and eventually terminates at Napamaytanidol Chedi.
